A beautiful way of celebrating your baby bump is to turn it into a work of art. Celebrities such as Kate Winslet and Mariah Carey have shown proudly painted bellies during pregnancy. Have it done for your baby shower or gift it to someone else, it’s a great, fun and novel way of showing off your bubba to be. Whilst baby bump artists don’t advertise under the title, make up artists, face painters and tattoo artists would often accommodate your baby bump art vision!
2.Pregnant Photo Shoot
If that Demi Moore shot has always been a burning ambition for you then go for it! Why not create a lasting memory that you can look back on, especially if it is the last time for you, your body will never look this way again. I would even suggest displaying it proudly for everyone to see, then you can show off your bump for years to come!
3.Dressing for two
We all have our own style and preference when it comes to choosing clothes but there are a few things to take note of that will make you look and feel at your best whilst showing off that beautiful new shape.
Lycra. It makes sense, your bump is going to grow so a comfortable fabric that can grow with you is a no brainer. The bonus is lycra shows off a pregnant belly beautifully. From stretchy vest tops to lycra maxi dresses, you can be stylish and comfortable at the same time. However, whilst it is tempting to just order a size up in your usual range buying maternity clothing gives a much better fit and accentuates your curves in a flattering way.
Wrap dresses. Wrap dresses aren’t just for Trinny and Susannah (for those in the UK old enough to remember). They are a great staple that not only show off your great shape but are very comfortable in the process.
Maternity jeans. If you spend your life in jeans like me then you will need to invest in a good pair of maternity jeans. Cover up the elasticated waist with a stylish top and look fantastic. My favourite maternity jeans were from Topshop. They fitted perfectly and maintained their shape until the very end!
Documenting your pregnancy through a photographic journal is a lovely way to capture such an exciting time. As pregnancy can be all consuming we often don’t take the time to look at the little changes that happen week to week. A photographic journal is something for you to cherish, to look back at and smile as you remember your 9 month journey to motherhood. It doesn’t have to be on Instagram, although that may be a nice way to involve friends and family. As you take each picture take a moment to appreciate how wonderful your body is and how beautiful you are.
5. Casting Kits
If putting a naked picture on your wall or sharing your evolving shape on social media is a bit too far for you then maybe a bump cast is the way forward. Casting kits can be bought cheaply on sites such as Amazon. They are great fun at your baby shower to decorate and have your friends sign but also a great of showing off your bare bump without actually showing off your bare bump!
